The Film

 

Made over two years, Yoga and Me is an independent documentary film featuring inspirational stories of renowned yoga teachers. The film is presented in a heart warming manner with a zest for humor which exemplifies the transformative essence and beauty of yoga. The DVD is essentially conversational by nature and ideal for people whom have not experienced yoga or for those who are simply curious about other people's lives. Yogis who want to delve deeper in to their practice will relate to and find an intimate connection to the themes and underlying message of the production.

 

Divided into chapters, the DVD runs seamlessly from start to finish. Alternatively, topics can be selected which are divided into chapters, which include Yoga and Relationships, Yoga and Pain, Yoga and Sex, and Yoga and Emotions to name a few. The DVD includes extended interviews with teachers Sarah Powers, Duncan Peak and Simon Low with a unique yoga bandha demonstration by internationally respected teacher Simon Borg-Olivier.

 

The Film Maker



 

Robbie Baldwin is a Sydney-based filmmaker and yoga teacher. Robbie won Best Film at the Queerscreen Documentary Festival and the Canberra Film Festival for his film Show Me Your Pic.

 

In 2001, Robbie received a Young Filmmakers Grant from the NSW Film and Television Office (NSW FTO) to produce A Wonderful Day, a short film about the day his mother died. The film has won Best Film at festivals in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Dallas and was screened in over fifty international festivals.

 

Robbie is currently writing his first feature film and is in postproduction on the documentary Cleavage - Candid Chats about Breast Cancer.

Robbie studied yoga teaching at Samadhi Yoga in Newtown, Australia and deepens his yoga studies with the Satyananda Ashram at Mangrove Mountain, on the New South Wales, Central Coast.
