The Tantric Universe
14 March, Sun (9.30am to 12.30pm)
What is most unique about tantric yoga philosophy is the fact that its teachings and practices are best suited for contemporary life. Tantra presents a sublimely inspiring view of the world, one that incorporates all aspects of human existence: the heart, the intellect, the body and the environment. In this session we will explore Tantra and what
is perhaps its most refined formulation, Kashmir Shaivism, from a perspective that is both inspirational and entirely applicable to our daily lives. We will dispel the most common misunderstandings about what Tantra is and is not, investigating its roots and its development, uncovering the answers to the most fundamental questions of existence, and the practices it developed to expand human consciousness. Ultimately, the value of the Tantric practice is that it reveals the Divine in all things.
The Inherent Joy of Life : Tantric Reading of Bhagavad Gita
14 March, Sun (2pm to 5pm)
Where can we draw inspiration for our yoga practice? And where can we turn to for advice? In India, these questions have often been answered in the form of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the foundational texts of the yoga tradition. Inspiring and profound, yet practical, the Gita has shown generations of yogis and seekers the key to the integration
of yoga into our daily lives. We will find how love, knowledge and action can be the very means by which we access the highest experience. The Gita offers us different approaches on how we can infuse our practice and our lives with meaning, depth and joy.
